Upon his release in 2019, he co-founded The Remedy Project, now a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit that unites students and formerly incarcerated advocates to challenge the prison industrial complex. His leadership, vision, and lived experience inspired the creation of The Criminal Justice Realm, the professional consulting and crisis-management arm of the same mission.
In 2025, David was honored with the Doctorate in Humanitarianism for his lifelong commitment to justice and authorship of the landmark book The Slavery Mindset, which exposes how America's original system of control still operates through modern institutions, especially the courts and prisons.
